How to get to the Malga
From Garda TremosineIt is possible to reach the mountain Malga or hut by car (better with an off-road vehicle) starting from the Polzone locality and climbing up to the Val di San Michele. For those who want to reach the Malga by mountain bike or e-bike, starting from Vesio di Tremoine, you must go to the Polzone locality and head for the Val di S. Michele, or you can climb straight up to the Nota Pass and continue toward the Tremalzo Pass. For those who want to walk up instead and enjoy the beautiful natural scenery of the Alto Garda Park, they can choose one of the many hiking trails; no. 222 is the recommended trail.
From the Valle di LedroYou can reach Malga on the asphalt road starting from Ampola Pass going up the Trento slope up to the Tremalzo Pass, from here it descends for about 1,000 metres on an unpaved road (well-cared for) until you reach the Malga Ciapa Refuge.
At Malga Ciapa you'll find an extremely varied menu, inspired to the culture and traditions of the region.
In the kitchen are used mainly the typical products of the Alto Garda Park and of the Co-operative wisely combined with herbs and mushrooms of the mountain.
Do not miss the tasty dishes of the mountain tradition combined with the products of Alpe del Garda, and strictly homemade desserts.
Between the green pastures surrounding the Step Tremalzo, on the border between Lombardy and Trentino, at 1,615 metres above sea level, you can find that little corner of peace called the Malga Ciapa Refuge.
